Best Overseas Family Resort

“Fun for kids is an essential part of the Jean-Michel Cousteau Resort family holiday experience – the Bula Kids Club is one of the best in the South Pacific. Changing daily activities and a fun and educational program keeps children engaged and enthralled. Every child under 6 years is assigned their very own nanny for the duration of their stay and older kids, in groups of five, get their own buddy! Allow at least one week to gently unwind in this extraordinary resort and it’s almost assured that yours will be one of the many families returning year after year.”

When you come for a luxury family holiday at Jean-Michel Cousteau Resort, kids aged 12 and under will have access to our award winning Bula Club, where they can dive into a range of fun and educational activities while you enjoy a little quiet time. Located a short walk from the centre of the resort, facilities include a family and junior pool with a water slide, a nursery bure, toddlers mushroom cascading pool, trampoline, jungle gym and flying fox, and last but not least a fabulous treehouse. In addition, the Bula Club offers a range of activities tailored towards different age groups. This means children can look forward to spending their days learning about Fijian culture or arts and crafts, exploring coral reefs, helping with mangrove replantation projects or baking with a sun oven. Our Bula Club reflects the resort’s commitment to children as the future caretakers of the earth and its oceans. Each day offers unforgettable adventures and enriching activities that teach our younger guests about Fijian Culture and island environment. Unlike other resorts, we cater to babies and toddlers, as well as older children. Each child under 6 will be assigned their own personal nanny from 9am-9pm, while children 6-12 years will be assigned a Fijian buddy in a group of up to 5 children. The Bula Club is complimentary for all families staying at the resort.

Johnny Singh, our resident marine biologist, offers dedicated family snorkel trips for all to enjoy the huge diversity of marine life and beautiful corals of Fiji. Each child will receive their very own JMC passport upon arrival, which they can fill with stamps as they complete various cultural and marine activities. When their passport is full, it will be signed by Johnny Singh – a special souvenir your children can bring home with them!

With our wide range of family-friendly activities, you and the kids will never be short of things to do. A favourite activity for all ages is our daily family snorkel trip in the glass bottom boat. The nannies take the younger kids out for viewing only, whilst the older kids can snorkel with their buddy or parents. There is also the private island experience, where the whole family can escape for the day to their very own island, just a short boat ride away from the resort. Want to explore a little more of Fiji? We also have a number of excursions to sites of interest around the resort, from a trip to the local market, all the way to a traditional Fijian village experience at Nukubalavu. Some of our popular offsite activities for older children include our rain forest and waterfall walk, mangrove tour and sword carving demonstration as well as visits to the local village and school. If the kids still have energy to burn off, they can participate in the supervised Bula Club activity program, while you laze by the pool or pay a visit to our spa for a relaxing massage.
