The Fijian people have flourished for over three thousand years by living off the natural bounty that surrounds them. Jean-Michel Cousteau and his team of conservationists believe our modern society can learn a lot about achieving a sustainable environment from the Fijian’s agricultural and fishing practices.
The resort is dedicated to the creation of a pristine environment where physical, mental and spiritual rejuvenation come naturally.

Since its inception, the Jean-Michel Cousteau Resort has dedicated itself to taking care of the environment. We’re proud to demonstrate that we can use what Mother Nature has to offer in a sustainable way, all while providing attractions for our guests in the form of native plants, rainforests and coral reefs.
The resort’s organic garden is meticulously cared for by dedicated staff who apply traditional Fijian agricultural methods combined with sustainable practices learned from international crop production experts. Resort-wide edible vegetation mean guests can enjoy tropical fruits, including pineapple, mango, papaya, coconut, guava and more, all included in our edible landscaping.
At the resort, we have a unique opportunity to educate future decision-makers. Our youngest visitors are destined to become tomorrow’s leaders in commerce and politics. By creating fun – yet informative – educational programs for our young guests, we help them understand how nature works and its value to people. Most importantly, we demonstrate how we can use nature to help create more sustainable commerce in our home communities.
